Sameer gazed at the evening sun as he sat alone at the Park bench. Laughter resonated along the park and he looked at the bunch of kids playing, not too far ago with a smile. It was nice to be devoid of any worry and just spend time and lead life as we wish.
Out of nowhere, he felt her presence, long before she came to his side. She was like spring, making the atmosphere around her more lively by each passing second.
Two tiny, soft hands slid onto his eyes from behind, successfully covering them. He broke into a huge smile and held her hands resting on his eyes and spoke with joy evident in his voice, "I knew you would come".
Of course she would come, after all, the road to this day hadn't been that easy and they had evolved out into the present together.
A Year Ago
Agarwal Mansion was filled with joy why wouldn't it be. Sameer Maheshwari the youngest business tycoon of India was coming to see their youngest daughter for marriage.
Everyone at Agarwal family welcomed Sameer and his Nanu very enthusiastically. Sameer was awestruck looking at the beauty standing in front of him in a pale yellow color saree. It was like love at first sight for him his trance was broken when Beena Agarwal in her high pitched voice started with the introductions
"Oo Bai yeh hain meri sbse laadli beti sunaina but Sameer could not take his eyes off her, the one standing beside Sunaina.aur yeh hain hamari bahu Naina"
Naina touched nanu's feet whereas Sunaina only said a casual Hi to Nanu as well .If it was possible Sameer fell more in love with Naina even after knowing that she could never be his as she was already married but his poor heart.
Sameer and Sunaina were sent in a room to talk and discuss about themselves. Sameer only how he spent the last past one hour with Sunaina when he was already missing Naina.
After all the discussions Sameer left with his Nanu promising to call them with their decision. Agarwals were positive that it will be a yes as no one can deny their beautiful daughter.
On the way back Sameer and Nanu were talking to each other when Sameer asked Nanu
"nanu mera yeh kehna toh shi nhi hain lekin mujhe unka bartav unki bahu Naina ke parti thoda ajib laga,aap jante hain ki aisa kyu"
"Beta Naina ek vidhwa hain,uski shadi wale din hi uska pati gujar gya.Beena bhenji usko bilkul pasand nhi krti voh toh kevel majboor hain use apne ghar main rkhne ke liye kyuki Naina ka iss duniya main aur koi hain bhi nhi" replied Nanu
Sameer was in a dilemma he was sad at one hand that a girl like Naina had to face soo much at this young age but happy at the other hand he could now marry her and it won't be wrong even.
Next Day the atmosphere at Agarwal mansion was not jovial as the previous day because the Maheshwaris had said a yes but they wanted Naina as their daughter in law and not sunaina which Beena had obviously refused.
Beena Agarwal and Sunaina were irked and shouting at the top of their voice and poor Naina was standing in the corner crying at her fate.
"Ma dekh lia natiza iss ladki ko ghar main rkhne main,phle to bhaiya ko nighal gyi ab mere Sameer ko bhi fasa lia"-said Sunaina
"Ma aap meri baat suniye aisa kuch nhi hain main to Sameer ko janti bhi nhi hu" meekly said Naina
"oo bai ek anath ko apne ghar main sahara dia yeh soch kr ki kha jayegi aur iss kulakshani ke lakshan toh dekho meri beti ke rishte pe apni nazar gadayi baithi hain,pehle mere bete ko kha gyi manhus aur ab yeh"-shouted Beena
"Beena chup main baat kr rha hu na" said Beena's husband Naresh
"Naina Bahu mujhe btao kya baat hain"
"Papa ji main Sameer ko sach main nhi jaanti, aur mujhe..."
Before Naina could say anything further she was hardly slapped by Naresh
"nhi janti toh uss ladke ne tere liye haa kyu kha" said Naresh slapping her again
Sunaina pulled Naina by her hair and pushed her towards the door
"maa papa ab yeh ladki hmari ghar main nhi rhegi"
"Thik keh rhi hain Sunaina nikal ja hmare ghar se kulakakshni"
"main kha jaungi please aisa mat kijiye" naina said crying sitting on the floor at the entrance
"Tum mere saath chalogi" Boomed a voice
It was none other than Sameer Maheshwari. He had come to Agarwal Mansion to seek answers for the refusal to his proposal when he witnessed the scene unfolding in front of his eyes and he burned with rage.
"Naina se main shadi krunga aur hum yha se bhut dur chle jayege "
"Oo bai himmat toh dekhiye iss ladke ki hmare hi ghar main aake hamri hi bahu se shadi ki baat kr rha hain "
"aisa kbhi nhi hoga Sameer,tum sharaft se chle jao yha se isse pehle hume dhakke dekar ghar se bhar nikalna pade "
"Nhi main Naina ka jawab jane bina khi nhi jaunga,tum bolo Naina "
"aapne suna nhi Maa aur papaji ne kya kha aapse jaiye yha se vrna yeh log aapko jaan se maar dalenge"
said naina looking down and running away to her room without even giving him a chance to say anything. Sameer watched her running away from there. A small smile adorned his face; at least she cares, thought Sameer.
Sameer caught Naina in market one day and asked her the same question and she like the first time denied.
But Sameer did not give up hope he use to bump into Naina at different places and continuously pestered her
One day Naina's patience gave up "aap smjhte kyu nhi hain,we cannot marry one another,I am a widow for god sake "
"are toh yeh koi problem thodi hain,pehle yeh btao pyar toh krti hu na mujhse "
Naina did not say anything and left but all hell broke loose when this news reached Agarwal mansion that their bahu was caught talking to a stranger.
They hit Naina and locked her in a room.
Sameer tried meeting her at her home but he was not allowed inside.
One day with great difficulty he sent a note to her by bribing a servant asking her to meet him in law garden at 5 in the evening but that day never came until today.
Present Day
Sameer use to wait daily for her and finally after an year she came down to meet him
He removed her hands out of his and pulled her to the front and made her sit beside him. They stared at each other for a long time before he spoke out.
"itna wqt kyu laga dia Naina "
"Sameer main thik nhi hu aapke liye "
Sameer looked at her and demanded explanation, Naina pulled her hair at one side and showed his back
Sameer was shocked would be an understatement, there were all red marks all over her back
"aapka letter maa ko mil gya uske baad unhone aur papaji ne yeh kia,Sameer aapko koi bhi mil jayega main hi kyu main imperfect hu phle toh kevel anath aur vidhwa thi lekin ab saath saath yeh nishan.I am anything but not right for you," she said, tears streaking down her pale face.
Sameer also had tears in flowing down his face hearing what she had to bear due to his one letter. Sameer pulled her onto to him and held her tightly while she cried her heart out until tears seemed to betray her. He wanted to comfort her in any way possible and words weren't what she wanted right now. She hugged him tighter, finding, for the first time in months, a sole with which she could share her pain with. After pulling away from him they both wiped each other's tears before Sameer spoke up
"Naina, I know that life isn't a bed of roses but it isn't just filled with just thorns either. When I told that I loved you, I meant that I am willing to accept you as mine with all your flaws as well as the perfections in you. Mera pyaar itna kamjoor nhi hain ki in sab chizo ki vjh se kamjor padh jaye.Main toh tumse tb se pyar krta hu jb tumhe pehli baar dekha tha aur aaj bhi tum mere liye vhi Naina ho. Jo bit gya use toh main badal nhi skta lekin ab hmara present aur future hum dono milkr decide krenge. "
"Lekin use pehle tumhe mere ek sawaal ka jawab dena hoga"said Sameer
Naina sat the bench staring back at him and nodded
"Do you love me?"asked Sameer once again determined to set things straight.
"aap yeh puch bhi kaise skte hain main yha baithi hoon ye iss baat ka saboot hain ki main aapse bhut pyar krti hu Sameer"replied Naina
"Do you trust me enough to break all the ties, leave everything behind and come with me Naina?Tell me, are you ready to spend the rest of your life with me?" Sameer waited with baited breath, waiting to hear her one answer that could change their lives forever.
"Yes Sameer please le chaliye mujhe yha se khi bhut dur "said Naina hugging him once again.
2 years later
Naina was standing in the balcony wearing Sameer's white shirt. They had spent a passionate night together. Naina never knew this kind of pleasure existed too; she smiled thinking about his desperation for her.
"What are you thinking? "Sameer hugged her from behind and nuzzled her neck
"Nothing. Do not do that, your stubble tickles,"Sameer smiled at her words but did not leave nuzzling.
"Thanks for coming into my life Naina", he said, staring at her. She gazed back at him with equal love for him in her eyes and pulled his hand out of hers and kept it on her growing belly and whispered, "Thanks for loving me Sameer and giving me this." He dropped a kiss on her lips and hugged her onto him by his shoulders as they stared ahead at the sun, dreaming about their future together with their unborn symbol of love.
