Photos] Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon's Arnav and Khushi: The TV Jodi ...

Arnav Singh Raizada didn't listen to music very often.

Everyone in his family knew that, including his beloved wife Khushi.

But one day, the sound of him humming a song reached her ears.
She wasn't sure of what she heard and didn't say anything about it.
But the next day, she was sure.
Her one and only Laad Governor had been humming that song for one day now.

Unfortunately, Khushi had no clue which song it was.

Not a song from one of Salman Khan's movies for sure.

She could tell that much because Arnav would never hum a song from a Salman Khan film in front of Khushi, she would recognize it and start singing at the top of her lungs.
Which had happened a few months ago when Mami had been watching Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Khushi entered the living room singing the song loudly.
Arnav had been in the living room at that moment looking for his laptop charger and had laughed at her for ten minutes straight.
Besides, she knew all of Salman Khan's movie songs by heart and could recognize them from the music. Arnav's humming didn't sound like any of these songs at all.

For the next couple of days, Khushi hummed the song like Arnav had to all the family members to see if they recognized it.
None of them did.
She didn't want to ask Arnav himself because she had a feeling he would tell her he didn't remember.
Or he might refuse to tell her the name of the song just to get on her nerves because he was still a Laad Governor who liked to annoy her sometimes.
After four days had passed, Khushi got busy finding a new manager for her KKGSR business and had no time to think about the song anymore.
On her way back home after recruiting a new manager, she was in the car with the driver who had the radio on.
Suddenly, a song came on and caught her attention with its catchy beat.
"Turn up the radio, please!" She requested.
Once the volume was up, she could hear the lyrics better...

Chadha jo mujhpe suroor hai
Asar tera yeh zaroor hai
Teri nazar ka kasoor hai yeh
Dilbar dilbar dilbar
Aa paas aa tu kyon door hai
Yeh ishq ka jo fitoor hai
Nashe mein dil tere choor hai
Dilbar dilbar dilbar
Ab to hosh na khabar hai
Yeh kaisa asar hai
Hosh na khabar hai
Yeh kaisa asar hai
Tumse milne ke baad dilbar
Tumse milne ke baad dilbar
Dilbar dilbar dilbar
Hey Devi Maya! Finally
This is it. This is the song my Laad Governor was humming.

As soon as she got home, Khushi shared the good news.

"It's so good that you found a manager for KKGSR."

"Even better, Di! I also found that song Arnav Ji likes."

After three years of marriage, she still was too shy to call him Arnav only unless they were alone.
"Mummy?"

Khushi looked at Aarav who was doing his homework.
"What is it, Aarav? Do you want to eat something?" She asked sweetly.

"No, mummy. I just wanted to tell you...I have known that song you asked me about for days."
Khushi's mouth formed an O shape.

She kept staring at Aarav like that and he laughed at her.

When she closed her mouth, Khushi scolded Aarav before announcing she wouldn't make him any sweets for the next week as a punishment before she went up to her room.

She wasn't mad at Aarav for that, but it would be best to punish him to stop him from hiding things in the future.

After taking a shower and drying her hair, Khushi got a call from her sister Payal.
They talked for almost two hours and she told her everything about Arnav, Aarav, and the song.
Payal laughed before asking her:

"Why do you even want to know that song? Do you want to sing it out loud and make Arnav Ji laugh at you like he did last time?"
"What? Who told you that?" Khushi was slightly embarrassed. Everyone at hone still laughed about that and now Payal knew too.
"Anjali Ji told me. But really, Khushi...What will you do now that you know the song?"
Khushi flashed her sister a playful smile.
"It's a surprise for Arnav Ji. I'll tell you once it's ready! Bye for now, Jiji. Say Hi to Akash Ji and kiss my niece for me."

After the goodbyes and hanging up the call, Khushi started thinking about her surprise plan.
First, she would need to search for the song's video clip and watch it if there was one.
When she tried to search for the video on her phone, the battery died.

"How do I watch the video now?"

Her eyes focused momentarily on her husband's laptop which was put on the table.

"Should I do it?"

A few years ago, Khushi would be too hesitant to even open Arnav's laptop but she had taken computer classes, so she had enough information to avoid ruining things and to know the basics of net surfing and computer usage.
She got closer to the laptop and sat on the couch before opening it, but not yet turning it on.

"Devi Maya tere saath hai, Khushi. Do it."
When she turned on the laptop, she noticed it had only been in sleep mode.
He probably forgot it like that while working...
When she opened the Google browser, she noticed there was a frequently visited page on the home screen.

For the second time of the day, Khushi was shocked as she found out that the music video she was intending to search for was the exact same as the page she just opened.
"Hey Devi Maya...Why was he watching this video?" She mumbled to herself after she finished watching it.
It was a nice song and the choreography was also superb but...

"What if it's for...Hey Devi Maya! Of course. It's for the dancing girls!"
Just the thought of it got Khushi angry and jealous.
She decided that she would dance just as well on the night she'd surprise Arnav.
That night when he came home, she had prepared his favorite dish -vegetarian lasagna- but didn't stay long at dinner, quickly finishing her plate and excusing herself.

She went upstairs but went to the pool area instead of entering the room.
She had started memorizing the choreography steps earlier by using a dance tutorial video and wanted to practice now after putting her earphones on with the song playing.
It was definitely harder than it looked.
After just ten minutes of practice, Khushi's body and legs ached and her foot slipped on a bit of dust close to the pool.
She would have fallen in there if Arnav hadn't come at the right time and held her in his arms.

"Khushi, what the...what were you doing?" He asked, looking confused.
"I-I was...working out."
Arnav raised a brow.
"Since when do you work out, Khushi?" He laughed.
"I won an Indian beauty contest. I should look fit or people will laugh at me next time they see me."
Arnav rolled his eyes and wrapped his arms around her neck, running his fingers through her silky hair.
"My wife is always beautiful. With or without work out."
Khushi's heart was racing in her chest and Arnav's lips pressing against hers didn't do anything to help it.
Her husband's kisses still drove her crazy and made her forget everything around her...

"Ugh. Phone..." Arnav groaned when his telephone's ringing interrupted the moment.
He talked to his assistant Aman for a while.

When he joined Khushi in the bedroom, she had changed into lighter clothes for sleep.
He pulled her closer with mischief in his eyes.

She knew what he wanted, to resume their making out session but she had another idea.

"Arnav..."

"Yes?"

"Come home early next Friday. I have a surprise for you.
And bring all this mischief with you. You'll need it."

Then she yawned.
"Good night."

She heard him mutter a: "What the..." under his breath but he didn't argue.
She had exactly one week to prepare her husband's surprise.
And she was determined for it to be perfect. So, she got the help a dancing coach named Feriha Khan who usually coached people for Sangeet dances.
The coach was strict but Khushi never complained.
She practiced for five hours straight every day at Feriha's studio.
On the sixth and last day of practice, Feriha asked Khushi:

"Do you have a costume or specific outfit you will wear on the surprise date?"

Khushi zoned out for a moment, realizing she had not planned any outfit:

"Hey Devi Maya. No, I don't.
Thank you for reminding me, I will pick out an outfit tonight."

And she tried to do exactly that in the afternoon before Arnav and Aarav came home.
She stood in front of her side of the closet, taking out most of her sarees and salwar suits.
None of them seemed...attractive enough.

In the end, she got her outfit from Feriha who sold outfits fitting for dancers.
At first, she paired the outfit with high heels trying to dance with them on.

That didn't work, and her feet hurt from the first twirl.
She removed the high heeled shoes as quickly as possible.
"I knew jealousy made women do crazy things from the serials I watched but now it's happening to me in real life." She muttered, sighing.

The front door opened downstairs and as soon as Khushi heard Aarav's voice in the entrance, she feared he would see her in these clothes.

He always came to hug her when he arrived home from school.
She rushed to the bathroom and locked herself there, changing into a simple salwar kameez, one of her usual outfits.

As soon as she got downstairs, she attended Aarav, making him a cup of his drink, chocolate milk and giving him a light snack.

While she was in the kitchen, she got a text and opened it quickly, thinking it would be from her Jiji since they texted back and forth daily.
But the text was from Arnav.
Khushi. Can you come here now? I forgot my medicine at home.
____
Khushi got to ASR's company after a short car ride, running inside without even greeting anybody, which was unusual for her.
She reached his office feeling breathless from all the running and leaned against the door to catch her breath.

"A...Arnav! I brought the medicine. Are you okay?"

He was a little dizzy, but he knew full well that nothing too bad would happen to him, Khushi had arrived with the pill right on time.
He looked up at her slowly, putting his head on his forehead.
Khushi's eyes filled with tears. "Arnav." She walked over to his desk as quickly as her tired legs would carry her and filled a glass with water before giving him the pill.
He swallowed it in a second before taking Khushi in his arms and wiping her tears.
"Hush. Don't cry. I'm okay."
"No, you are not okay. You forgot your medicine, Arnav!"

"Khushi..." He mumbled, feigning anger.
"Don't Khushi me! I'm the one who can be angry here. You worried me."

"I'm sorry, okay?" He kissed her cheek and her anger faded as easily as it came.

"Did you eat your lunch yet?"
He shook her head.
"Arnav, seriously? Come with me to the cafeteria right now." She demanded.

"Cafeteria? I don't eat in there."

Khushi huffed. "Fine!"

She picked up the phone and called Arnav's secretary, asking her to bring him a meal as quickly as possible.
"But what if I'm not hungry?"

"Arnav, don't be silly." She mumbled. "You should eat."

"Okay. But on one condition."

"Condition? This is not a contract, Arnav!"

"Nope, it's a negotiation." He corrected, annoying her.

"Okay then. What do you want?"

"A kiss, Khushi."

"Huh?"

"You heard me."

"Fine." She gave in, kissing him...on the forehead.

"Khushi, what the...?"

"It's still a kiss." She shrugged.
The secretary entered the office with the food box and Khushi took it from her with a word of thanks.

"Come on, it's time to eat."
"Here?"
"Arnav, you said you didn't eat in the cafeteria so where do we eat?" Annoyance was clear in her tone.

"I can't eat on my desk either, you know I like it clean."
"Ok then. We will eat on the ground. There are plastic plates with the lunch box."

Before Arnav could reply, Khushi gave him a warning look.
As she saw her husband eat his lunch and hum in pleasure at the good taste, Khushi felt proud.

After all, the  food at his company was provided by her boxed food service, KKGSR.
All the recipes there were revisited by her to have her special touch.

"By the way, Khushi..."

"Haan, what is it?" She smiled.

"I forgot the pill on purpose."

"Huh?! You're joking, right?"

"No, you are so busy these days taking care of Aarav and I with work that I barely see you and at night we're both sleepy so..."

Khushi was mad at him.

He had truly scared her.

It took him one hour of cuddling and an apology to get her to look him in the eye and smile again.
He changed the subject once the mood had lightened.

"Tomorrow night is Friday, is my surprise ready?"

"Come home early and see."

"How early do you want me to be home?"

"At eight. I'll   give you the surprise at nine."

"What will I do between eight and nine?"

Khushi laughed at him.

"Spend time with Di and the family."
"How will I focus on that when you have a surprise?" He complained.

"I don't know, I can't help you." She laughed before wiping her mouth with a napkin and taking her hand sanitizer out of her bag.

When she put some of it on her palms, she was surprised by Arnav putting his palms against hers.

"What are you doing?" She asked, staring up at him.

"Your hand sanitizer is almost over, and I wanted to use some too so..." He trailed off with a smirk.

She shook her head at him and blushed.
Before she left, she left a small kiss below his ear before whispering: "I am sure you will be very happy tomorrow night."

He did stupid things like forgetting medicine just because he wanted to see her.
And she'd do something as daring as dancing like a Bollywood star to impress him.
____
On Friday, Khushi's cheerfulness was noticed by everybody around her and she was aware Arnav was in a good mood too.

She made sure to spend time with Aarav after he came home from school, playing video games with him.

She had also spent the afternoon talking to Naani, Di and Mami.

But when Arnav came home, she had already disappeared to their room, checking the decoration and arrangements there.

Everything was in place.
She dressed up before combing her long hair, which was so long now it reached the back of her legs.
She rarely let it down since it had grown so long, but tonight she did.

She hesitated on how to do her makeup and ended up searching on Youtube for a tutorial.
It took her a long time to get right but the result was great.
When she finished getting ready, she found a lit up the many candles she had put around the room and switched the light off
When she finished getting ready, she found a lit up the many candles she had put around the room and switched the light off.
The music was set to automatically start playing on her mobile at 9 PM sharp and she knew for a fact that Arnav would not be late.
She could imagine the impatience in his eyes and heart as he looked around for her.

By the time it was 8:55, Khushi had almost chickened out, thinking of how revealing the clothes were in comparison to her usual ones.
What if he doesn't like my clothes or makeup?
What if he thinks my dancing is ridiculous?
What if he laughs at me?

But all the what if's vanished when she thought back to the first time she found the video on Arnav's laptop.
She had to do this and dance so well that he'd never think of that song the same way. So that he would forget the dancers in the video and remember her only.
She counted the minutes as they ticked away on the clock of her phone screen.
8:55.
8:56.
8:57.
8:58.
8:59.
9.00.
____
Arnav had never eaten so quickly in his life.
But he just couldn't stop thinking of his beautiful Khushi and her surprise all day, so it was only natural he would want to be there as soon as he could.
At 9:00, Arnav opened the door of their bedroom, some muffled music inside.
As soon as he entered the room, his jaw dropped.
Firstly, at how gorgeous his wife looked in the outfit she was wearing.
And secondly at the way she danced like a professional
And secondly at the way she danced like a professional.
Aa paas aa tu kyun door hai
Aa paas aa tu kyun door hai
Yeh ishq ka jo fitoor hai
Nashe mein dil tere choor hai
Dilbar dilbar...

Arnav knew he should close his mouth. But he truly couldn't even think of moving, Khushi was just too enticing.
He felt something on his face after a few moments.
Flower petals.
The room was filled with candles and flower petals.
Perfectly cheesy and romantic.

Khushi had cheekily thrown flower petals on his face and motioned for him to sit down.
He did as he was told, not once looking away from her.
The movements of her body were gracefully choreographed.
Arnav was breathless, and she had only just begun.
He thought he might forget to breathe as he saw her approach him while still dancing.
The chime of the anklets she wore mixed with the sound of the music.
Arnav's heart was thumping crazily in his chest.
She was so close that he could touch her now.
His breath hitched audibly as she flipped her hair in front of him, knowing how much he enjoyed that move of hers.
He watched her flip water out of her hair every morning after showering and always would pull her in for a kiss right afterwards
He watched her flip water out of her hair every morning after showering and always would pull her in for a kiss right afterwards.
He tried to do just that, but she stopped him by swatting his hands away.
The wink she gave him after that made him growl under his breath.
Tu mera khaab hai
Tu mera khaab hai
Tu mere dil ka qaraar
Dekh le jaan-e-mann
Dekh le bas ek baar...

Arnav couldn't tear his eyes away from her and he felt like pinching his arm was the only way for him to believe this was real.
His innocent and shy Khushi had become a dance diva for tonight, just because she had seen the video was present on his laptop's recently opened web pages.

He had known she saw it since she had forgotten the tab open and he knew nobody but her would dare touch his laptop.

But nothing in the world could have prepared him for this surprise.
Currently, she had her leg put upon his chest and it took him lots of self-control not to trap in his arms and make her his right away.

She rolled down onto the floor, shaking her body in front of him in a way that drove him out of his mind...

Chain kho gaya hai
Kuch toh ho gaya hai
Chain kho gaya hai
Kuch toh ho gaya hai
Tumse milne ke baad dilbar
Tumse milne ke baad dilbar
The song had ended and so did Khushi's dancing, but the magic of the moment still hung in the air.
___
Khushi felt accomplished as she stood up.
She had followed the whole choreography seamlessly and didn't mess up one step.
But that didn't mean she wasn't nervous about Arnav's reaction.

Now, he had yet to react.
He was quiet as Khushi stood in front of him, awaiting his comment.
When five minutes of silence passed, she finally spoke up:

"Arnav, why are you not saying anything? Did you dislike it that much? Sorry I'm..."

He pulled her closer by the waist, and she was tired from the dancing, so she fell into his lap instantly.
"Oh, Khushi." He whispered. "That was perfect..."
He pressed his lips to hers in a long-lasting kiss that was only ended due to the need for oxygen.
When Khushi's heart stopped racing, she finally asked the question that had been bugging her mind for eleven days and nights
When Khushi's heart stopped racing, she finally asked the question that had been bugging her mind for eleven days and nights.
"Arnav, why were you watching that video? It was for the dancing girls, right?
Well, I danced better than them now."

Khushi was shocked by her husband's response: "Actually, Khushi...I was watching that video very often to take notes about the outfits worn by the dancing girls you got jealous of."

"Huh?!"

"Yeah, my next fashion show will be about outfits fit for dancing.

I will launch a  special collection for one of ASR company's most loyal clients. I agreed, and she gave me funding for it. I needed to see what kind of outfits and accessories Feriha wanted on the collection before the designer began to work, though. And she wanted ones like the ones in the video."

"Who is that client?"

"Feriha Khan."

"Hey Devi Maya...so this whole thing was caused by Feriha Khan.
She taught me how to dance."

"Oh, really..."

"Yes!" She pouted. "I feel like destiny played a silly game with me."

"Hey, don't pout. I loved your dancing so much. And if destiny has anything to do with this, then destiny just wanted you to dance for me like the dancing diva you were tonight."
He tangled his fingers through her long hair and kissed her neck.
Khushi blushed and tilted her neck back
Khushi blushed and tilted her neck back.
"Did you like my dancing more than the dancing in the video?"

"Way more, Khushi.
Because you are mine...Meri wife ho tum, Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada."

Hearing her full name in his voice made her heart race again and she kissed him back passionately when she found his lips on hers again.
___
After a loving night in each other's arms, Khushi and Arnav woke up very content on Saturday morning.

After they showered, as they were on their way downstairs for breakfast, Khushi heard Arnav humming again.

"Which song is that?" She asked curiously.

"It's Aa Zara Kareeb Se, the Emraan Hashmi song. Want to try dancing like that too?"

She smacked him on the shoulder and he laughed.

"Hush. Naughty! How do you know that song anyway?"

"I caught you watching that video, remember? You were scandalized, and you kept telling me Emraan Hashmi has no shame."

Khushi blushed and changed the subject.
"I love you, Dilbar."

"I love you too, meri Khushi."

The End.
